Ruth Huang-Suzuki, soprano and teacher of singing (NATS), had an extensive singing career from opera to concert stage. She sang leading roles with Vancouver Opera, Edmonton Opera, Courtenay Music Festival and Victoria Summer Festival. On the concert stage, she performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the Victoria Symphony Orchestra, and Victoria Summer Festival Orchestra. She has performed under the baton of renowned conductors, such as Anton Quadagno, Kazuyoshi Akiyama, Meredith Davies, Pierre Hetu, Lazlo Gati, just to name a few.

Besides operatic performances, she sang as soloist in numerous oratorios with many choral societies, in vocal ensembles, and has held many solo recitals. She taught voice for 23 years at Douglas College in New Westminster. She has also directed the Tzu-Chi Ladies Chorus for many years.

Presently, she teaches voice privately and is the Music Director of The Sakura Singers since its inception in 1970.
